Which was the most undigestable movie you ever saw? And why do you consider it that way?

For me:

Van Helsing

Reason: If you have seen this movie after reading Bram Stokers Dracula, and Frankenstein and Dr. Jerkyll & Mr. Hyde and Werewolf, you'd feel like staking your own heart! Just two words describe the movie to perfection IMO - Utterly Senseless. There was hardly anything which could be called a story, overly done graphics and animations, and the central character - Van Helsing who has been alive for 400 years, without a philosopher's stone!

The story starts with Vincent Frankenstein creating his monster at Dracula's castle and the people of Transylvania coming up to burn and kill the Doctor, whom they consider to be a corpse-thief. Dracula wants Frankenstein (this is the name they call the monster, but in the book Frankenstein, the monster had no name - it was just called as Frankenstein's Monster!) so that he could bring to life all his children, which were born from his three wives. A certain Valerius family wants Dracula dead, and vice versa. This task could not be completed by the Valerius' since the past 400 years. Ultimately comes on the scene - Van Helsing, who has just killed Mr. Hyde and has been sent by the Church of Rome to rid Transylvania of Werewolves and Dracula. He falls for the last remaining Valerius - Princess Anna, whose brother becomes a werewolf after being bitten by one.

And so starts a horrific and boring tale of exaggerated graphics and a plotline, which loses itself in the glare of the werewolf and Dracula's wives' transformations.

The biggest and most stupidest thing of the story was the knowledge that Van Helsing is actually Gabriel, who has lost his memory and he was the one who had first slain Dracula! Blinking Andy I mean how was he alive for 400 years!!!!

All in all, a boring and stupid movie!

I just want to make an announcement...*clears throught*...I LOVE VAN HELSING!!! That movie rocks! I had to buy it the day it came out, and I saw it in the theatre twice....BTW, Van Helsing didn't live for 400 years, he died and and was reincarnated (sp?) to rid the world of evil. No need for the sorcerer's stone...They also never called the monster 'Frankenstein', if you watch the movie again, the clearly say 'Frankenstein's Monster'...So you shouldn't jump to conclusions, you probably got bored with it and weren't listening properly...I'm not trying to sound "evil" here, I'm just trying to get my point across...

Anyways, I have to say that the most annoying movie (I know this is gonna sound childish) was the Sponge Bob Square Pants Movie...god, it was an hour and a half of torture...

I hate horror movies, who actually aren't scaring at all. 'The Ring' was a real hype when it came out in the cinemas for the first time here. When it was released on DVD, I watched it over at friends, we saw the movie at night, in total darkness. I had heard of my classmates that it was really scary. So I sat there watching, and it was ssoo hilarious. It was so hilarious I don't even really know what I watched Rolling Eyes . Also I saw 'the Grudge' in the cinema, that was really scary. But I also saw 'Ju-On' the original Japanese The Grudge. And it was so bad -_-, the special effects and stuff we're just hilarious, you see a wig crawling over a floor, how hilarious is that? And you couldn't follow the story line at all.

Anway I like horror movies, but not when there hillarious, we have other movies for that -_-. Those are my bad movies....

I have not seen the ring but I did hear some pretty bad reviews about it.

If he reincarnated, how on earth did he have Dracula's ring? The ring he took off after cutting of Dracula's finger? And that was not just any ring, it was a signet ring. Also in the movie it is said that Van Helsing has lost his memory and there was no mention of a reincarnation - oh BTW. I had seen it on a CD. So maybe some scenes were cut, because of which the story seemed blotchy.

I'm going to try to actually explain something grin , so this might get a bit confusing and scary... smile

In the beginning of the movie when Van Helsing goes to the Vatican, in Rome, the cardinals there mention that he was found on the steps of the church as a young child, supposedly sent by god, so he may have been found with the ring as a baby...(If you believe in this sort of thing... Blinking Andy )

During the movie, Van Helsing also tells of dreams that he has of ancient battles that occured hundreds of years ago. So in a way, he does remember things from his 'previous life' he just doesn't know what they mean, or even that they are his own memories...Even though they didn't exactly say he was reincarnated, it was insinuated though...

Oh yeah, I just reread what your first post about the movie said, and I left something out...Frankenstein's monster was not created at the 'Castle Dracula', it was created at the 'Castle Frankenstein'

Alright, I think I covered it all...If you have no idea what I'm saying then I'll try to explain it another way... grin
