Eragon Book Three

The title of the third book in the Eragon seris is .....wait for it ......BRISINGR which means Fire

The book itself is gold in color.

Thought someone might want to know.

Thanks for this update, I have read Eragon and Eldest and likewise I thought that the third book in the series would also begin with an 'E'. But Brisingr is a good name. I'll try to find an image of the cover online.

This is what CP said in the newsletter he sent out:

I am pleased to tell you that the title of Book Three in the Inheritance cycle is Brisingr. Sometimes one’s first thought is best, and so it was with naming this book. After many months of trying to sum up a complex story in a single word, it struck me that I had had the name all along. For reasons that will become clear when you read Brisingr, this title is perfect.

Brisingr is an Old Norse word for “fire.” As you may remember, in Eragon, Brom uses the word brisingr to start a fire. This is the first time Eragon hears an ancient language word, a word of magic. Later, when Eragon is cornered by Urgals in Yazuac, he shouts “Brisingr!” to great effect (see Eragon—chapters "Revelation at Yazuac" and "Admonishments").

Both elements of the cover, the gold dragon Glaedr and the title, touch on Eragon’s inheritance. With his painting, John Jude Palencar has captured the dignity and wisdom of Glaedr, and Random House has again designed an awesome book cover.

More exciting news is on the horizon . . .

Yay! I like Eragon too... Weird is, I just saw the movie xD. Not bad.... Liked books more.. Well did he say when will it come out???

Hmm, Thanks Mary for the update. I think I will wait till September 20th. I like the Eragon series as well and I think I'll give Alagaesia.com a visit.

I have just been back from Alagaesia.com - well IMO the website is good enough but does not stand a chance against Harrypotter.com! grin

Anyways, any new update on the next movie in the Eragon series?

Because the title is brisingr, I think 'fire' might play a significant role in the destruction of the Empire(or whatever event that's going to take place in the third book)

I think you're right - but I don't think the third book might end the series. There is lots to happen yet - remember Eragon could not even face of the Eldest (no spoilers intended).

Well since there's going to be a fourth book, we know this book will leave us wanting MORE.

I think it will all be wrapped up in the final book.
Like it was in Deathly Hallows.
Who knows though he may make an Encylapidia <-- Spelling sux. lol
