I appreciate that you are young, Vic, but that is no excuse for immaturity. Netspeak is not permitted on this site, and, while I am not a moderator here, I am still a member. I don't want to read posts with netspeak for swear words in them; neither does anyone else, and I don't see any reason why I can't ask you to obey the rules of this forum. If you need a refresher, you can check out the rules Jibran made for the site through the link at the top of this page. Netspeak is one of the first issues discussed. In addition, you don't get to threaten other members. It is absolutely unacceptable, and adding a smiley to it doesn't make it funny. The goal here is to have a discussion about the book and related subjects, not have a bashing match. There is a rule on another site that goes 'it is okay to poke holes in an argument, it is not okay to poke holes in a person.' Try to treat others with respect; that will help you on your way to earning some.

Back on topic...

I think that this has been kind of beaten to death, really. There are a few who want to cling to fan fiction, but the reality is that Jo wrote something else. Hermione and anyone but Ron is a digretion from canon, so it's really an individual choice to accept these ideas or not.

It's all good. I'm not offended, I just want to keep the site family friendly. I'mm trying to figure out why this is such a heated topic... People are really passionate for arguing both sides. But we have canon on our side, so I think we win. smile

I don't know; I'm thinking that ship is pushed along by older men who like Emma Watson, because there is nothing in canon to support that ridiculous idea.

Don't worry about it being late. At 27, birthdays aren't quite as exciting as they used to be. My mom bought me a food processor! How about that for 'you know you're old when...' lol And you beat my husband to it because we haven't had a chance to go out to dinner yet. Anyway, thanks again!
