wizard Well it 3:00 pm and i have just finished the book. It was great now I know what the deathly halllows are and how Snape helps Harry defeat s Voldamort. I am saddened by all who died but it good to know that their memories remain with the names of all the children. Yes Snape was a good guy, may he rest in peace.

Hi Bear,

I know how you feel. I feel the same way, all of this time there was this small nugget in my mind which refused to believe that Dumbledore was really gone and that Snape was really evil. I had my doubts because of certain things since HBP - Snape not allowing Harry to use the Forbidden Curses, shielding him and not harming him, when he could easily have finished him off.

If someone takes care to go through my posts on PottersRealm and PottersKeys, they'll find that I had discussed that Snape was probably in love with Lily. Dumbledore set a large store by the power of Love. There was no other way he could have trusted Snape the way he did if love did not play a part someplace.

I was also quite stunned with the fact that how the story came a full circle and I do hope that like JRR Tolkien, JK Rowling would also continue with her universe - not Harry Potter - may be not - but maybe Albus Severus Potter would have something more to tell to us.

I do really really wish that the end would not have come. I feel a little saddened by letting it go. I can now understand how difficult it would have been for Jo to let go. God bless her for igniting the magic in our lives.

grin I know, petty as it sounds I want my (extremely slow reading) friends to finish so I can say 'I told you so'. I always beleieved Snape was a good guy, and that Dumbledore planned or knew about his death . We've almost come to blows over this topic, however, not seriously enough for me to ruin the book for them!

It was a great book, yes I had a little cry to myself over some of the deaths, but they coulddn't all survive I guess. And the threads throughout the series all pulled together really well.

Only.. what now.....??

...?

A HP8? That would rock grin

But anyway, I have never cried because of a book. Never. EVER. And when Harry died, I was ballistic! XD how retarded did I look. And I was in the car, too! But I'm glad that Harry came back to life. Or did he? o.O He never died, but he did. It was weird.

Well an HP 8 is definitely a possibility - but not as a continuation novel, but rather as an encyclopedia of the Harry Potter world. Atleast that is something JK Rowling has let slip and I am very glad for it!

I think it will still take a year or two for that to come out. Snape did turn out to be a tragic hero, and I must say that Dumbledore used Snape a little ruthlessly, but it was not something he didnt deserve.

I think JKR has said Snape wasnt a hero, she calls him a bully and all those things because he was and he certainly wasnt a hero, just someone who had hidden depths thats showed through in a time that was needed.

but yeah i think in an interview she said that she did not see snape as a hero, he was a good man, but the fact that had he have never loved lily, he would not have tried to save harry, so in all essence, he is still not a very likeable man, just one to be respected, not admired

Thank you Jibran lol it's a shame the books should end after seven volumes though, Harry Potter series meant more than mere books to me

Still think he is a nasty piece of work though. No matter what, Snape may have helped Harry, but if it had not have been for his love of lily he would never have done so. that also goes for being in cahoots with dumbledore.

Dear Snape the snake food!

also I like the whole Dumbledore angle and how we find out what he say with that potion.

i also love the whole thing with Petunia and Snape being "that awful boy" and not james, HA!

I agree with you locky.

Snape made the choice to treat Harry like he did, only because of his jealousy over Lily and James.

he protected harry's life, but still tried to get him expelled all the time

he treated harry like dirt and well, harry started to treat him the same back.

Come on people, take it easy on Snape,,, he had the most miserable life ever. I don't blame him for hating James. James deserved it...
