So as you may all know by now, Daniel Radcliffe is about to make his debut on stage in the play Equus.
Quite a frightful story about Alan Strang (Daniel Radcliffe) who is a 17 yr old boy who has a passion for horses. Then one night he goes demented and blind the six horses. He seems to be quite average, but after the attack is placed under psychiatric surveillance.
Only one psychiatrist Martin Dysart (Richard Griffiths) seems to be able to grasp the answer to the puzzle.
There has already been a play about it and a movie in the 1970's, now they are redoing the play.
The role seems a far reach (especially when you read about the what role entails)
So I am asking for opinions on the subject. What do you think
is Daniel radcliffe insane to do this role
or is he brave
me I have no idea, but i do know that it is something that has intrigued me since I read he was in this thing.
(oh and I am not a Daniel radcliffe fan either)

Sonya... You know how I feel about that Equus play and Daniel Radcliffe being in it! I hate it, because it makes Daniel look bad! No matter which way you spin it! I just don't think he deserves that kind of publicity because he's too good for it! Unlike most of his fans who would die to see him naked like that, I actually care about him and what could become of his future after this! He is a good person and I just don't want him to have to become a porn star after this or anything! I want him to have the best because he deserves it! I think him doing this play is wrong, and the very thought of him doing something like this should be thrown out the window and run over by a truck on the highway!
Daniel Radcliffe is a good enough actor at this age that he should be able to get more meaningful roles than riding horses bareback! If he wants people to take him seriously as an actor, then he should do something more than this because this is garbage and it makes him look trashy!
Daniel is my favorite actor because he's brilliant, thoughtful, and when he acts he acts as if he is really living out the role. This is a hard subject for me, as I care so much him it's hard for me to type while crying. So I have to stop in between tears as they build back up again! WHOEVER WROTE THIS PLAY SHOULD DIE IF THEY'RE NOT ALREADY DEAD, AND THE THE PLAY ITSELF SHOULD BE ERASED FROM EXISTENCE!!!
I just can't bare to see my FAVORITE actor do something like this, him doing this is like him taking a gun and shooting it into the hearts of his million fans... especially me, because I can't even think about without shedding tears.
Shaffer, who has resisted previous efforts to revive the play in the West End, agreed to back the revival after Radcliffe agreed to a private performance for the playwright at the Old Vic.
"It wasn't a question of finding a play for Daniel to do because we knew it would be a hit," said Mr Pugh.
"I have been wanting to do a production of Equus for eight years and the problem has always been finding the right boy.
"When Daniel performed for us at the workshop we couldn't take our eyes off him."

Vic you say that I should do more serious roles, well this is a serious role because it is taking such a big risk but I'm willing to do it. I hope that I haven't upset anyone else by doing this. As for it "making me look trashy" I don't know what to do there, but say sorry.
I used to think that he shouldn't have done it but it's also a good thing that he HAS. Now he will be taken much more seriously as an actor! YAY FOR DAN!
Doing Equus shows that Dan has guts to get out of the shell of his Harry Potter shell because I dont think that it has caused a dent in his popularity.

I think it's up to Dan to decide what he should do and what he want to be!
If you support Dan,pls support his choice.
I think he is excellent and always ready to do some fabulour things.
