Enjoy and please give me feedback! Sorry if a few of the chapters are a bit long, suppose I branched out a bit lol!))
Chapter One: An American in Hogwarts?
One particurilary hot summer morning, Theresa wakes from her bed as the sun slides over her face. She clumsily gets out of bed and makes her way to the bathroom which is connected to her room by the way. She brushes her teeth, takes a shower, dries off, and puts on some fresh clothes. She then hurries down the stairs for breakfast, but when she reaches the dining room, she finds that her parents and little brother had already beaten her. Her father sat at the end of the table reading the newspaper. Her mom, who sat to left of Theresa's father was talking to Sean, Theresa's little brother as he sat across from her. She took a seat next to her mother when the maid came from out of the kitchen carrying four trays of steaming bacon, eggs, and pancakes.
"Mom, when do we go back to school?" Theresa asked.
"Why dear, you will get your let- I mean you go back tomorrow! And this year at school will be fun, because Sean will be starting at Hog- I mean starting at that school this year too!" Her British mother answered, looking nervously at her father. When Theresa finished her breakfast she went out to her car to go to the Mall and hang out with her friends. She got in her car and drove on down the road. Then Mr. Wilson came out in his bathrobe to fetch the morning paper. Theresa waved to him, "Good morning Mr. Wilson!" she said from her car, and she kept on driving. Finally, she made it to the Mall and found a space close enough to the front.
Once inside the Mall she immediately began scanning the place for Kevin and Seth, her two best friends. Kevin Richardson is 18, 6'1" with dark hair, and blue eyes with a little facial hair too. Kevin always stays behind for the summer to keep Theresa company while Seth flies off to California to do some official Kaiba Corp business. Kevin is a nice guy to be around, he's funny, outgoing, sweet, and Theresa and Kevin used to date. Things just got a little wierd and it really wasn't working out very good, so they decided to just be friends.
Then there is Seth Kaiba who is the same age as Theresa, 16. He is 5'9" and has light brown hair (like Theresa's) blue eyes. He is really smart, energetic, sociable and he is conservative sometimes, overall he is a really great person to pal around with. Finally she spots Kevin at the "Corral" which happens to be his favorite food court in the entire Mall. Then she notices a boy sitting next to him. He has neat hair, clear skin, beautiful blue eyes, and he is kinda tall just looking at him. Then Kevin calls her over, "Hey Theresa, over here, c'mon we've been waiting here for you!" "Coming!" She rushes over towards their table and when she sits down she asks, "Kevin, who is your friend?" "Theresa, are you feeling okay?" Kevin asked, looking at her as if she was crazy. "I'm fine, now who is your friend?"
"Theresa, you honestly don't know who he is? It's Seth! You know, your best friend since forever!" "Seth?" was all she could get out, he has definitely changed over the summer! His hair is combed, his acne is cleared up, and he lost the glasses...he looks amazing and...hot! "Theresa, you alright?" Seth asked. "Wha- oh yeah, I'm fine! Did you have a good summer?" "It was alright, just the same old same, Hostile takeovers and business deals, that sort of stuff, nothing out of the ordinary. You?" "My summer was the same, just laying around and hanging out with Kevin!" "So Theresa, when are you guys going back to Hogwarts?" asked Kevin. "Well, we're getting our letters tomorrow, so I suppose the day after or something?" Theresa answered. Seth and Kevin are also wizards, and since Kevin is 18, he doesn't have to go back. He can apparate and do all kinds of really advanced spells. He doesn't do any of that stuff around Seth and Theresa though, at least until they are out of school. He doesn't want them to feel like he's showing off or anything.
Theresa heads back to her house after some serious shopping. She pulls her car into the driveway and creeps up the path to the front door. She fumbles with her keys when she reaches the door until she finds the correct one. She slowly opens the door, trying not to wake her brother who is probably asleep on the couch. She came inside and gently closed the door behind her, and heads up stairs to her room. Finally, she makes to her room and then plops down on her bed and goes right to sleep.
Chapter Two: A Letter Comes
Theresa rises from her bed, and straightens her bed. She then starts on her morning routine of getting ready. After she is dressed, she heads downstairs where surprisingly her family wasn't in the dining room. "Mom! Dad! Pest, I mean Sean!" she called, "They're probably still asleep?" she said to herself. She shook it off and sat down in one of the chairs, just then the maid came in with the mail.
"Theresa, this one came by owl, so here you go!" Rosie said with enthusiasm.
"Thanks, I've been waiting for this, it's my Hogwarts letter!" Theresa said, as she tore open the envelope.
The letter read:
Dear Theresa Sattan,
Welcome back to another year at Hogwarts. All of your school supplies are listed below. Have a wonderful year!!
Sincerely,
Albus Dumbledore

"This is perfect!! Rosie did Sean get his letter yet?" asked Theresa.
"Yes he did, he's up stairs packing."
"Excellent!" she exclaims, as she grabbed an apple and walked out of the dining room. She ran upstairs up to Sean's door which had a 'Keep Out' sign like all boys have. "Hey! Double E, c'mon we've gotta get going or we're going to miss the flight!" she hollered outside his door.
"I'm not going!" said a muffled voice that sounded a lot like Sean. Theresa opens the door and sees her brother lying with his pillow over his head.
"What do you mean you're not going?"
"I mean I don't wanna go to Hogwarts with you, do I have to spell it out for you?" he said, still under the pillow. Theresa goes over and sits on the edge of the bed.
"You know that you don't mean that, even if you do, why don't you wanna go?"
"Because I just don't wanna go!" then she could've swore that she heard a light huff.
"Look Sean, there's nothing to be afraid of, Hogwarts is a great school filled with friendly people, well there is Draco Malfoy, but he won't be a problem." She assured him.
"What makes you think I'm afraid?"
"I can hear you crying!" and he uncovers his head from the pillow.
"I'm not crying!"
"Sean, I know better, I'm your sister. No one is going to mess with you as long as I'm around and I'll keep an eye out for ya, I promise."
"Really?"
"Of course, if no one messes with my little brother but me!" Theresa said, giving him a playful noogie. "Now c'mon, let's go we're gonna be late!"
"Hold on, let me get my stuff ready!"
"Why didn't you do that last night? Oh well, at least you're packing, be down in thirty okay?" She said, leaving the room.
Outside in the hall is where Theresa's mother caught up with her. "Theresa, now you packed all of your things?"
"Yeah"
"All of your clothes?"
"Mom, it would take me an eternity to pack ALL of my clothes, but yeah I packed my clothes though."
"Great, now Theresa, I want you to look out for your brother. He's new to this school so no harsh jokes or anything like that all."
"I know mom, I know."
"Oh and sweetie, don't forget Angel, your snowy owl."
"Mom, I'm not gonna forget Angel, she's the only communication that I have."
"Okay, now all of your things are downstairs by the door."
"Mom, where's dad?"
"He's still asleep, don't worry, I'll just tell him that you couldn't wait any longer because you were going to be late or something."
"Alright mom, I love you." and she hugged her mom tight.
"I love you too sweetie." just then Sean came out, "And of course I love you also, have a great year baby!" and she kissed his fore head.
Theresa and Sean hopped into Theresa's car, and Sean got in the passenger seat. "Sean you have to get in the back because we're picking up Seth too!" she explained, putting the key in the ignition.
"Aw man, can't I just sit in the front until we pick up Seth?" Sean whined. He put on his famous puppy dog face and she just gave in.
"Fine, but as soon as we get there, you're getting in the back!" She told her brother.
The siblings went on down the road, and Seth doesn't live that far, just a few streets over.
They arrived in front of Seth's house right when Seth came out the door with his bags. "C'mon Mokuba! Theresa's here to pick us up!" said the familiar voice that belonged to none other than Seth.
"Alright, I'm just trying to get my bag through the door!" Mokuba screamed.
"Hang on, I'm gonna put my bag in the car, then I'll help you!" and Seth ran over the car. As he ran Theresa just stared at him, at how much he has changed. Then before she knew it, Seth was inches away from the driver window. "Hey Theresa, hey little man!" He said, waving to Sean, "So Theresa, what time do we need to be at the airport?"
"Wha- Oh um, 11:30 and we need to be there on time or else well you know what happens." and they stared at each other for a while.
"Hello, earth to Seth! Did you forget that I need help over here!" Mokuba yelled, from inside the house.
"Right, uh Theresa, I'll be back!"
"I know you will, because I'm driving you!"
Now that they're all in the car, it's time to go to the airport. "See Sean, I told you, nothing to be afraid of, you've got Mokuba with you!"
"I guess it won't be so bad since I know that there will be friends at Hogwarts." Sean told his sister. The whole way to the airport Mokuba and Sean talked the all the way there.
"So Seth, I bet you're waiting to start the new school year, right?" Theresa asked.
"Yeah, I guess I am. Hey are almost there?"
"Yup, soon we'll be getting on that plane, and then off to London we go, oooh I can't wait!"
"I can tell!" Seth said jokingly.
"Will you love birds be quiet and turn on some tunes!" cried Mokuba.
"Hey!" Seth and Theresa said in unison.
"Isn't that the Airport up there?" Sean asked, pointing straight ahead.
"Yup! That is where we take leave boys!" Theresa informed them.
Chapter Three: Diagon Alley
The four boarded the plane after waiting so long standing in the airport.
"So Theresa, excited?" Seth asked.
"Yeah, I can't wait! Seth, what happened over the summer, I mean, when you came back I didn't even recognize you!"
"Oh that, well, before I was just going through an awkward phase."
"Try a five year phase!" Theresa joked as she turned back to the movie. Seth looked at her, then away, then looked at her again, and then turned away again.
Within thirty minutes of the flight Theresa had passed out. She now had her head resting on Seth's shoulder. Seth did nothing to disturb her sleeping, he just thought back to first year when they met.
Then before he knew it, he had gone to sleep.
"Hey wake up! We're here!" Sean hollered, and Theresa and Seth came straight up.
"Sean!" Theresa yelled.
"What? You two are heavy sleepers!" Sean commented back.
They all grabbed their bags and unboarded the plane single-file. Soon after they left the Airport, and they were walking on the cobblestone streets of London.
"Uh...I don't think we're gonna find any of these things in London?" Mokuba said sounding confused.
"Look, just follow us, we know what we're doing and where we're going...turn down this alley everyone!" Theresa said, pulling her little brother along.
After walking a good ways, the four happened upon a tiny, grubby-looking pub, and Theresa said, "Well boys, this is the Leaky Cauldron!". If Theresa hadn't of pointed it out, Sean and Mokuba would've never known it was there. The people hurrying by didn't glance at it. Their eyes slid from the big book shop on one side to the record shop on the other as if they couldn't see the Leaky Cauldron at all. In fact, the boys had the most peculiar feeling that only the four of them could see it. Before the two boys could mention this, Theresa and Seth had steered them inside.
As soon as they stepped foot into the Leaky Cauldron, Theresa was washed over by a scent of ginger and butterbeer. They headed for the table in the center of the room. Before she sat down, she noticed white-blonde hair in a shadowy corner talking to himself. She could barely make out what he was saying.
"Yes...yes my lor-" He cut himself off when he saw that Theresa had noticed him, "I'll finish this somewhere else...later!" and the blonde boy went up stairs, to his room most likely.
"Seth, what do you suppose Draco is doing here?" Theresa asked him sounding a little worried.
"Probably staying the night, or about to go to Diagon Alley...Theresa, you worry to much...just relax." Seth assured. Theresa wasn't convince about Draco at all, something is seriously wrong with that boy, and she is going find out what it is! Seth came back with a round of butterbeer, and of course Sean and Mokuba questioned if it was safe to drink it. Theresa had then noticed the Daily Prophet on the rack, so she went to get a copy. She reached a hand out for a copy when a creepy, wrinkly hand grabbed hers. Then the stranger spoke in a raspy voice, "You are in grave danger! You need to beware of the perils! Beware the signs! Have a nice day!" and the stranger strutted away with a walking stick, and humming to himself. 'Odd one he is!' Theresa thought. She snatched a newspaper and quickly headed back to the table.
She began reading the paper hastily to see what has been happening in the wizarding world, and maybe an explanation for the old man's behavior. She gasped at an article on the front page and whispered in Seth's ear.
"What!?!" he yelled.
"It's true, look, The Ministry wants Dolores Umbridge to come and teach at Hogwarts again...like fifth year wasn't bad enough!" Theresa whispered.
"No! She can't come back! She can't!" Seth outraged quietly.
"Well, she is coming back, but our question is 'why'?" She whispered back. They stopped talking when they heard a cat hissing as it came downstairs. The two looked up and noticed the cat looked just like Hermione's cat. Then they realized Crookshanks was chasing something, something that ressembled a smelly old shoe brush.
Then two people came running after their pets. They were none other than Ron and Hermione, and as usual they were aguing about something stupid.
They heard a familiar voice soon after say, "You two should just stop arguing about every little bloody thing!" as the 17 year old boy came down the stairs. When he reached the bottom, you could really see his emerald green eyes behind those round spectacles, and of course that infamous lightning shaped scar. Theresa then decided it was time to get going, because trouble always followed them where ever they happen to be.
They came to a small and cramped place in the back where the trash goes. Then Theresa tapped the third brick above the trash cans three times and the wall opened up.
"Boys, Welcome to Diagon Alley!" She said, grinning at Sean and Mokuba's amazement. They stepped through the archway. The two boys looked quickly over their shoulders and saw the archway shrink back instantly into solid wall.
"Well boys, first we need to get our school books...those will be at Flourish and Blott's!" Theresa explained.
They all went into a store with a sign above that read in gold letters, "Flourish and Blott's" Sean and Mokuba freaked when they saw ALL of the books.
"Guys, don't worry, you don't have to get all of them!" Theresa laughed, looking at their faces.
They had gotten their books and everything else, and it was time for one more thing. Catch the train in time!!!
Chapter Four: Platform 9 3/4
The four had finally arrived at the train station. Sean and Mokuba looked down at their tickets questioningly, and Mokuba said, "Platform 9 3/4? There must be a mistake, there's no such thing!" as he looked up to his older brother.
Theresa and Seth laughed at their confused expressions. "Seth, why don't you show them how it's done! Now, you two need to pay attention to Seth and don't blink...don't look away for a second!" Theresa warned. They continued to watch as Seth disappeared into the wall between platforms 9 and 10.
After a minute of staring blankly Sean asked, "How do we get through the barrier?" looking up to his sister.
"Oh it's easy, see all you have to do is look at the wall between 9 and 10, and then just run! Oh yeah, make sure there are no muggles watching that's VERY important!" Theresa explained.
They all had gotten through the barrier and found a compartment that was almost empty. There was a person asleep with their jacket covering their face.
"Do you think he's really asleep?" asked Theresa.
"Seems to be." answered Seth, "Why?" he questioned.
"I need to tell you guys something!" She simply said as she closed the door tight. She had told them what the old man had said back at the Leaky Cauldron, Seth looked worried, then looking over at Sean and Mokuba as they seemed as if they were about to faint.
"So let me get this straight, some guy comes up to and tells you to BEWARE?" Seth stated, fiddling with his wand.
"Yes...I just wish I knew what to watch out for." she said, more to herself than to anyone else. She looks down and starts huffing quietly, then she feels someone in the seat next to her caress her hand.
She looked up into the sparkling blue eyes of her best friend, Seth. He said, "Don't cry, you have plenty of people to look out for you at Hogwarts, like Dumbledore, McGonagall, and...me." and then placed put her hand in his, "It'll be okay Theresa." he assured her, and wiped away a now forming tear.
They lean closer, and when they're an inch away from each other, "We're hungry!" Sean and Mokuba said in unison.
"Figures!" Theresa said quietly, "Well no wonder, the lunch trolley hasn't been by yet, I'll go look for it!" and with that, she left closing the door behind her.
She spots the trolley at the very end of the train and starts after it, when she hears the familiar voice of Draco Malfoy coming from the compartment on her right.
"Yes...yes my lord...yes...the deed will be complete, I will hand Pot- Hang on!" he said, and the compartment door slid open, "What are you doing Sattan?!" his hands tightening like he was going to strike.
"Just passing by Ferret-boy!"
"You'll regret those words!"
"Oh really, what are you going to do, get your lord onto me!"
"ONE MORE WORD!!"
"Boo." and she started to walk away towards the trolley, when the blonde haired boy shouts, "Locomotor Mortis!" then she fell over.
She heard a door slide open, she looked up and saw a tall, jet black haired boy, with emerald green eyes. The boy looked down at Theresa and then to Malfoy and knew what had happened. He pulled out his wand, pointed it at Malfoy and shouted, "Petrificus Totalus!" then Malfoy fell flat on his face. The boy whispered the counter-curse and her legs came apart in an instant. Then she felt his arms around her, as much as she wanted to pull away, she didn't because he felt so warm to her.
Then Theresa heard something and she was pretty sure Harry was whispering to her and she continued to listen:
"I will protect you From all around you. I will be here Don't you cry. For one so small, You seem so strong. My arms will hold you, Keep you safe and warm. This bond between us Can't be broken. I will be here Don't you cry. When destiny calls you, you must be strong. I may not be with you, but you've got to hold on." when he was finished, he was still holding her close.
"Harry?"
"Yes?"
Seth comes walking out of the compartment and sees Harry holding Theresa in his arms.
"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!?" and Harry backs off and runs into his compartment again and locks it.
"Seth, I can explain...okay I know that it looks bad, but Harry was just helping me when Malfoy cursed me...see there's Malfoy still on the ground! Seth, you know that I wouldn't betray you!" she looked down, as if she wasn't worthy to look her best friend in the eye.
"Whatever, we need to hurry and get our robes on, we'll be there soon!" he informed her, then turned to leave.
Chapter Five: Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
They had finished putting on their robes when the train began to slow down. The four stepped off the train together when Theresa and Seth heard a familiar voice. The two turn their heads and see the unmistakable Hagrid.
"Who is that!?!" asked Sean.
"That is Rubeus Hagrid, the game-keeper at Hogwarts, but just call him Hagrid. Now, I know that he looks ferocious and all, but you don't have to be afraid of him. Hagrid is as gentle as a bunny rabbit, and well, I can't really say that about the animals that he looks after!" Theresa explained.
"Firs' years foller me, firs' years over here!"shouted Hagrid as he rang a small bell. Sean and Mokuba walked over to Hagrid, then Theresa and Seth found an empty carriage, or so they thought. They realized the other person in the carriage was Luna Lovegood. She had her wand behind her left ear, and she was reading a copy of the 'Quibbler' upside down. Theresa began to wonder why someone would read upside down. She didn't want to know why, it would most likely be something weird, so she stared out the window.
They finally started moving and Theresa looked out at the lake below where she saw a little boy tip out of the boat.
"Funny...aren't they?" said a dreamy voice that was sort of a whisper. Theresa and Seth turned quickly to see Luna peering at them over her magazine.
"Um...excuse me...who's funny?" Theresa asked politely.
"The first years."
"Yeah, they are pretty funny sometimes."
Before they could say anymore, the carriages came to a quick halt.
All of the students stepped away from the carriages and started up the stone steps. They almost reach the top when Peeves comes along and starts to pelt them with water balloons. Everyone was now running and screaming while Theresa thought about what to do, and she wasn't the only one thinking, Hermione joined in. Then it hit her, it was so obvious!
"IMMOBILIZE!" Theresa shouted, along with Hermione, as they both had their wands out toward the slow moving Peeves.
The students had followed Filch up the tall oak front doors. The doors sprang open as everyone walked into the entrance hall. The entrance hall was ablaze with torches and echoing with footsteps as the students crossed the flagged stone floor for the double doors to the right, leading to the Great Hall and the start-of-term feast.
The four long house tables in the Great Hall were filling up under the starless black ceiling, which was just like the sky they could glimpse through the high windows. Candles floated in midair all along the tables, illuminating the silvery ghosts who were dotted about the Hall and the faces of the students talking eagerly to one another, exchanging summer news, shouting greetings at friends from other houses, eyeing one another's new haircuts and robes. The two had finally sat down at the Gryffindor table when they noticed Ginny was hailed by some fellow fourth years and left to sit with them.
"I wonder if Umbridge will be a tinsy bit better than before?" Theresa said to Seth.
"Doubt it! Theresa, it is going to be fifth year all over again!"
"Well, maybe Dumbledore gave her some strict rules that she has to obey or something?"
"Nope, she is here to make our lives a living..." he was interrupted when McGonagall came in carrying a stool and an ancient wizard's hat that was heavily patched and darned with a wide rip near the frayed brim.
The buzz of talk in the Great Hall faded away. The first years lined up in front of the staff table facing the rest of the students, and Professor McGonagall placed the stool carefully in front of them, then stood back. Theresa then noticed her little brother Sean was shaking frantically, and she thought, 'He must've been the one that fell into the lake!' and she laughed quietly.
The whole school waited with bated breath. Then the rip near the hat's brim opened wide like a mouth and the Sorting Hat burst into song:
In times of old when I was new
And Hogwarts barely started
The founders of our noble school
Thought never to be parted:
United by a common goal,
They had the selfsame yearning,
To make the world's best magic school
And pass along their learning.
"Together we will build and teach!"
The four good friends decided
And never did they dream that they
Might someday be divided,
For were there such friends anywhere
As Slytherin and Gryffindor?
Unless it was the second pair
Of Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw?
So how could it have gone so wrong?
How could such friendships fail?
Why, I was there and so can tell
The whole sad, sorry tale.
Said Slytherin, "We'll teach just those
Whose ancestry is purest."
Said Ravenclaw, "We'll teach those whose
Intelligence is surest."
Said Gryffindor, "We'll teach all those
With brave deeds to their names,"
Said Hufflepuff, "I'll teach the lot,
And treat them just the same."
These differences caused little strife
When first they came to light,
For each of the four founders had
A House in which they might
Take only those they wanted, so,
For instance, Slytherin
Took only pure-blood wizards
Of great cunning, just like him,
And only those of sharpest mind
Were taught by Ravenclaw
While the bravest and the boldest
Went to daring Gryffindor.
Good Hufflepuff, she took the rest,
And taught them all she knew,
Thus the Houses and their founders
Retained friendships firm and true.
So Hogwarts worked in harmony
For several happy years,
But then discord crept among us
Feeding on our faults and fears.
The Houses that, like pillars four,
Had once held up our school,
Now turned upon each other and,
Divided, sought to rule.
And for a while it seemed the school
Must meet an early end,
What with dueling and with fighting
And the clash of friend on friend
And at last there came a morning
When old Slytherin departed
And though the fighting then died out
He left us quite downhearted.
And never since the founders four
Were whittled down to three
Have the Houses been united
As they once were meant to be.
And now the Sorting Hat is here
And you all know the score:
I sort you into Houses
Because that is what I'm for,
But this year I'll go further,
Listen closely to my song:
Though condemmed I am to slit you
Still I worry that it's wrong,
Though I must fulfill my duty
And must qaurter every year
Still I wonder whether sorting
May not bring the end I fear.
Oh, know the perils, read the signs,
The warning history shows,
For our Hogwarts is in danger
From external, deadly foes
And we must unite inside her
Or we'll crumble from within.
I have told you, I have warned you...
Let the Sorting now begin!
The hat became motionless once more; applause broke out, though it was punctured, for the first time in Theresa's memory, with muttering and whispers. All across the Great Hall students were exchanging remarks with their friends and neighbors.
"Branched out a bit this year, hasn't it?" said Seth, his eyebrows raised.
"Too right it has," said Theresa.
Professor McGonagall had begun to call out the names as she read a large piece of parchment.
"Sattan, Sean."
The terrified-looking boy stumbled forward and put the hat on his head; it was only prevented from falling right down to his shoulders by his very prominent ears. The hat considered for a moment, then the rip near the brim opened again and shouted, "GRYFFINDOR!"
Theresa clapped loudly as the other Gryffindors greeted her brother to the table while he staggered to the table and sat down, looking as though he would like very much to sink through the floor and never be looked at again.
Slowly the long line of first years thinned, and Theresa could swear that she heard Ron's stomach growl from the other end.
Finally, "Kaiba, Mokuba" was sorted into Gryffindor, and Proffessor McGonagall picked up the hat and stool and marched them away as Professor Dumbledore rose to his feet.
Dumbledore began his start-of-term speech as the entire Hall grew silent,"To our newcomers," he said in a ringing voice, his arms stretched wide and a beaming smile on his lips, "welcome! To our old hands...welcome back! There is a time for speech making, but this is not it. Tuck in!"
The food finally appeared in front of them and the two tired boys, Sean and Mokuba began digging in right away.
"You two, honestly, do you have no control?" Theresa said furiously as she whispered across the table.
"No." they said in unison.
"Ugh! And look at Ron!" she said, as she watched Ron Weasley shovel his food down, "it's disgusting! I think I lost my appetite, anybody want this?" and she offered it to a neighbor, they declined.
They all had finished eating and Dumbledore sent everyone to their common rooms.
The four came walking up to the portrait hole when Seth realizes that he forgot his password list.
"Oh man! My list!"
"What list?" asked Sean.
"My list of passwords."
"Don't worry everyone, I have mine!" Theresa assured them, she looked up to the fat lady and said, "Pixie Lights," and the portrait hole slid open. The four of them stepped inside and went to bed after their long day.
Chapter Six: Start of the New Term
Theresa rose from her four-poster bed, and noticed that Hermione was already dressed and heading out the door quietly trying not to wake anyone up. She slumped out of the bed, and slowly made her way to her trunk. She opened it, and pulled out her school robes. She threw them on, and hurried downstairs to meet Seth. When she reached the common room she didn't see Seth, but she did see Harry. The dark-haired, green-eyed boy sat in the armchair by the fire with his nose in some Quidditch book. As she stared at him, she remembered what he said on the train, "When destiny calls you, you must be strong. I may not be with you, but you've got to hold on." as these words whispered in her ear, Harry looked up at her. She thought to herself, ?Does Harry know something that I don?t? And if he does?how?? and she continued to stare at him.
"Erm...are you okay?" said Harry, puzzled.
"Oh, yeah...I'm fine, really..."
"Okaaay?" and he put his nose back into his book, and that's when Theresa moved slowly toward the couch. She sat there with her arms across, looking as though she was freezing even though there was a blazing fire in the mantle. Harry looked up at her again, but didn't say anything. A smile slowly crept to the corners of his lips, and she turned away ignoring his gaze completely. The last thing she wanted was for Harry to think she actually likes him that way. She turned her head back in his direction, and luckily he seemed more interested in his book. She watched him read and the more she watched, she couldn't help but feel sorry for him. Since he's always cut-off from the magical world every summer, having to endure the suffrage of the Dursleys. Then, she heard his voice ringing in her ears again. His voice said, "My arms will hold you, keep you safe and warm. This bond between us can't be broken." as his voice faded, Seth emerged from the boy's dorm accompanied by two small boys who were none other than Sean and Mokuba.
?Theresa, are you gonna come down to breakfast?? asked Seth, surveying his friend?s actions.
?I?m not sure?I just need a little time to get my thoughts together.? She said simply.
?Oh?alright, see you later?? and the three of them disappeared into the portrait hole. Harry poked his head back over the book, much like Luna Lovegood with her ?The Quibbler? magazine. He quickly brought back the memory of what had happened on the train. She didn?t want to remember that, she wanted anything than to remember. She shut her eyes tight, and tried to force it out. Then she felt those same strong hands on her shoulder. She opened her eyes and saw that Harry had abandoned his chair by the fire, and joined her on the couch. She reacted fast, and the next thing she knew, she had left Harry on the couch. She was now standing up and looking at him as he looked at her.
?What do you think you?re doing?? She said through heavy breaths.
?Well, you looked like you were upset?so, I came over to see what was wrong. Are you sure that you?re okay?? said Harry, his voice filled with a deep concern. She just looked down with eyes closed, and made her way for the portrait hole. Harry slowly stood up, and started to go after her, but stopped himself completely.
?No, this is her story?she has to write on her own?I can?t interfere?? He said calmly, as he stood there watching as she disappeared through the portrait hole.
She came into the Great Hall feeling really guilty that she?d left Harry without answering his question first. ?I?m such an idiot?? she muttered under her breath. Her head still down, as she made her way to the Gryffindor table by instinct. She passed Seth, and went on to the end of the table where it wasn?t as crowded. She took a seat there, and began poking at some bacon with her fork. There were a couple people who came over to see if they could cheer her up, but nothing worked. She looked toward the two great double doors, and Professor McGonagall came in with the new schedules in hand. Professor McGonagall walked up and down the table handing people their new schedules. Each person who had received their schedules had an over excited look about them. When Theresa got hers she didn?t open it right away, in fact she didn?t even open it. She held it in her hand, wondering if it?ll be alright to open it. Then, out of nowhere she thought him. Harry came into her mind again, why couldn?t she forget about him?
?What?s happening to me?? asked Theresa, furiously. ?Why won?t he leave me alone? I can?t stop thinking about him, and I just want to forget him?at least, for now.? She hid her face in her arms. As soon as she closed her eyes, she felt those same strong hands on her back. She jerked herself up quickly to see Harry next to her. ?Look, I?m really sorry for being so rude, after you?ve been nothing but nice to me.?
?It?s alright, I know that you?re confused?but, you won?t be for long. Soon everything will start making sense?as soon as you?ve completed your story?s end.?
?What??
?Everything will make enough sense later?? and he walked away toward Ron and Hermione.
? Well, that sure was strange?what did he mean by, ?as soon as you?ve completed your story?s end? strange?? said Theresa, as she gathered her things. She got up and started for the courtyard to try and gather her thoughts there. As soon as she got close to Harry?s seat, she had that feeling again, and she started remembering what happened when she didn?t even want to think about it. ?Why me?? she asked quietly. She ran passed him as fast as she could, she didn?t care how many people were watching. She made it to the courtyard and sat on a stone bench in the corner. She then started digging through her bag, looking for her schedule. When she didn?t find it, she knew then that she had left it in the Great Hall. With Harry. How on earth could this be happening, school hasn?t even started yet. ?Oh well, guess it?s time for me to just face it?I need to go in there and get my schedule, which means I have to be in there with Harry.? She gathered her books, and headed back through the tall oak front doors. As soon as she opens the door, BAM!
?Sorry Theresa! I was just returning your schedule after I saw that you forgot it, here.? Seth handed her the schedule.
She flung her around him in relieve, ?Thank you Seth! You?re a life saver!? and she tears open the envelope.
She let out a loud groan as she read, ?What! Double Potions, Double Divinations, and Double Defense Against the Dark Arts with UMBRIDGE!?
?Yikes! That?s one schedule!?
?C?mon, we?ve got potions with Snape first,? said Theresa, throwing her bag over her shoulder. ?You know what?ll happen if we?re late to his class!?
?Yeah, Gryffindor will lose ten million house points!? said Seth, jokingly. They laughed their way to the dungeons, and saw Malfoy off in dark corner talking to himself. It is obviously him, because he his the only Slytherin with white-blonde hair. Seth didn?t mind him though; he just went through the door into potions. Theresa shot behind a suit of armor to hide herself from Malfoy?s view.
?My Lord, you have my word that it will be done. It may take a bit longer than I expected with Potter butting in! But, rest assure the deed will be done as you wished?Wait!? he shoved the device into his pocket, and headed over too Theresa?s hiding place. Theresa shuffled back into the darkest part of the corner in order to hide herself. ?I thought I saw?never mind!? and he turned away toward potions. As soon as he was out of earshot, she let out a great sigh of relief.
?Ah man?that was close!? said Theresa, climbing out from behind the suit of armor. ?I better get to class!?
She walked into potions calmly, pretending not to notice Malfoy?s sneering face.
?Theresa! Over here!? Seth whispered, as he gestured to the seat next to him. She sat down, and has she did?he came in. Harry came in, followed by Ron and Hermione. They took a seat together in the back, and Theresa could almost swear that she felt his eyes bearing into her back. But, she only looked back when the door burst open. Their least favorite teacher came in, Professor Snape. His black robes billowed behind him as he made his way to the front of the class. Snape began speaking in his usual tone, when CRASH! Neville fell out of his chair. Snape looked over with a cocked eyebrow, and Theresa knew what was coming next. She was sure that he was going to use this as an excuse to take points away from Gryffindor. All of the Slytherins were laughing their smug heads off, and Malfoy harder than all of them. Theresa had a funny feeling that he was the one who knocked Neville off, since he was sitting right next to him!
?Mr. Longbottom, please explain to us why you think that it?s funny to disrupt the class?? said Snape, crossing his arms. Neville didn?t say anything, because he knew if he did?Snape would do his worst. Theresa saw Malfoy sniggering away in his seat. No matter how much she wanted to get up and slap Malfoy, and Snape?she didn?t. She knew that would definitely cost some points from Gryffindor.
Soon after Snape?s usual torture, it was like everyone forgot. Theresa knew better though, she knew that as soon as the next bell rings it?ll be all over Hogwarts.
?That was awful, what he did to Neville?it was just horrible.? Theresa whispered to Seth.
?I know, I?ll bet anything that that was the worst thing that Snape has ever done too him.? He whispered back. The bell rang, and the class gathered up their things. Theresa and Seth threw their bags over their shoulders, and headed out the door. Theresa noticed that Draco stayed behind to talk too Snape, but why? She didn?t let it bother her any though, she had to get too her next lesson, which unfortunately is Divinations.
Chapter Seven: Trouble Unfogging the Future
She made her way up a spiral staircase too Divinations, hoping that something would happen to keep her from having to go. Sadly, nothing. Theresa climbed the ladder through the trapdoor, and found a table in the back. A few minutes later, Seth came in the room and joined her. The two got to talking immediately, and something caught the corner of her eye?he had just come in the room, Harry. She watched him as he took a seat in the front with Ron.
?Theresa? You okay? You look a little?pale, you need anything?? asked Seth politely.
?No thank you,? she turned back to look him in the eye. ?Do you think something?s wrong with me?? and he didn?t answer, he just looked at her with deep concern.
?Theresa, is there something you need to tell me about Harry? Did he hurt you??
?No, it?s nothing?nothing you need to worry about, I just didn?t get enough sleep last night,? and she mindlessly opened her copy of Dream Oracle. ?Thank you though, Seth.?
He placed his hand on her?s to comfort her like he did on the train. They each leaned toward one another, and as they were an inch apart?the bell sounded for class to begin. Professor Trelawney came out of her office; her eyes magnified ten times their original state, and many bangles and beads all over her arms.
Then she spoke in her usual misty voice, ?Welcome to another year of Divinations?although I knew that I?d be seeing you again of course!? she said, and Lavender Brown applauded her. ?Thank you dear!?
Theresa leaned over and whispered to Seth, ?Of course she knew we?d come back, all the teachers did?? and Lavender?s hand shot up in the air immediately.
?Yes dear?? asked Trelawney.
?I can?t hear your wonderful lesson, because Theresa and Seth are yakking away in the back.?
?Suck up!? whispered Seth violently. Professor Trelawney made her way up to where they sat.
?Is there anything you wish too say my dears?? asked Trelawney, with a fake smile cracking her lips.
?No Professor,? said Theresa, eyeing Harry as he watched her. ?We were just discussing the Dream Oracle.? She turned away from Harry too look up at her teacher.
?Yes, of course you were dear?you, of all my students need to understand the future almost as much as Harry dear,? she turned to give Harry a quick glance, then turned back. ?My dear, let me see your palm.? Theresa handed Trelawney her palm, and she started running her fingers across it. ?Oh dear, Theresa it seems that you are in danger of internal foes.?
?I?M NOT IN ANY DANGER! WHY DOES EVERYONE KEEP TELLING ME THIS? I?M FINE; I?M NOT GOING TO DIE ON THE SPOT HERE IN FRONT OF EVERYONE! AND HARRY, WHAT IS WITH YOU? YOU?RE ALWAYS FOLLOWING ME AND HAUNTING ME! WHY WON?T YOU LEAVE ME ALONE, ALL OF YOU!?? and she stormed out of the classroom. Everyone then began to stare at Harry because Theresa had mentioned his name in her outburst.
?Oh dear, was it something I said?? asked Trelawney. Harry started to get up after her, but Seth saw this.
?I don?t think so! It?s obvious that you?ve caused enough damage Harry! So, here is a little advice for you?BACK OFF!? and pushed him back in his chair.
?You don?t get it, I?m the only one who can help her!?
?Harry look what you did by trying to help, I pretty sure that I?ll be able to help her out a hell of a lot more than you can!?
Harry stood up, ?We can both go, she might listen to what I have to say if you go along?so, what do you say??
?I say, hell no! I?ll go by myself and talk to her Scar Face!? and he saw that Harry flinched at this.
?Fine, you go,? and he sat back down. ?But, you won?t be able to help her by yourself.?
Seth disappeared through the trapdoor.
Theresa stomped her way down the spiral staircase, and she could almost swear she heard footsteps behind her. It was probably Harry, so she set off at a run. The faster she ran, the louder the footsteps became. She quickly jumped behind the one-eyed witch statue. Then she remembered what Harry did here before, but what was the password?
?Assendium!? she whispered, and nothing happened. She must?ve said it wrong.
?Dippendium!? she whispered, and again nothing happened. She had another one, but it?s just as stupid as the others.
?Dissendium!? she whispered, tapping her wand on the statue as it opened up a passage. She jumped through, and it was like a slide almost.
Seth, stopping for breath said, ?Theresa! Where are you? I just wanna help!? and he continued down the corridor.
As soon as the slide stopped, she hit solid earth. She rose to her feet and dusted herself off. It was so dark, she couldn?t see her hand in front of her face. ?Lumos!? and the tip of her wand illuminated. She began walking straight ahead, not knowing for sure where this comes out. She had been walking for what?s going on an hour now, her legs were starting to feel like jelly. She then started to notice the ground was now sloping up. After a couple more minutes of walking, she slammed her head on a ceiling or something.
?Ow! What?s this? A dead end? This can?t be happening!? and she threw her fist up at the ceiling. She had pushed open a trapdoor. Only question was, where? She climbed through, placed her feet on the dusty hardwood floors. She then began to examine everything around her. She must be in a cellar for some kind of shop, because there?s boxes of stuff on the shelves all everywhere. Then came the sound of heavy footsteps coming down the stairs. She jumped out of sight behind a stack of boxes, where else? She sat there not making a sound until the man?s footsteps disappeared up the stairs again. Coming out from behind the box, she started up stairs. She reached the top and she could almost swear that she smelled the sweet smell of Chocoballs. Sure enough, she looked through the door and saw everything from Acid Pops to Toothflossing Stringmints. She knew now where she was, she was in Honeydukes. She crept out from behind the counter, and made her way across the floor. Carefully she went through the door, so the bell wouldn?t sound. Now all she has to do is make it back up too the castle without being caught.
Finally she?s out of Hogsmeade, and only a few minutes away from the castle. If she hurries, she?d be able to make it back when the bell rings for their next class. Then the light-headed feeling got to her, the she gets when he is around.
?No?he can?t, be here!? and she began searching frantically for him. ?Where are you Harry? Come out now! I know you?re out there!? still looking around, she heard and saw nothing. ?Fine! Be that way then! I can make back to the castle myself!? and she continued walking.
?No you can?t,? she whipped around, and saw Harry coming out from behind a tree. ?Just let me help you, that?s all I want to do?please Theresa, let me help you.? Harry then began moving toward her with a sad expression.
?Why do you want to help me??
?It?s what I do.?
?But, where?s Seth??
?Back at the castle?looking for you.?
?Oh, then will you?take me back to the castle??
?It?s what I came here for,? and he held out his elbow. ?Shall we go?? and she took his arm.
?WE shall.? They started walking back together, and this time Theresa doesn?t feel like she did before?but, why? How come Harry wants to help, and help her with what? Also, why is it that she feels all these different things around Harry?
Chapter Eight: Strange Emotions
They made it to the castle together, and Theresa didn?t feel uncomfortable at all around him. ?Harry, I just want to say? thank you.? She went inside to meet up with Seth. Harry stayed behind, watching her disappear into the castle.
?Your welcome? just hope you don?t run into Malfoy.? He turned around, and headed for the courtyard.
Theresa walked up the marble staircase; and saw Draco standing in the hall alone talking to himself again. ?Potter keeps interfering, I can?t get anything done with him around!? and there?s a short silence as if he was listening to someone that wasn?t there, ?I understand, I must? destroy Potter, this should be fun!? an evil grin appeared on his face. Theresa couldn?t just stand here, and listen to this she had to take action.
?Whom are you talking to there Draco?? she asked coming out of her hiding place, and he turned to her.
?What do you want Sattan, is your boyfriend following you again?? sneered Draco.
?Boyfriend?? Theresa asked, ?What do you mean boyfriend, I don?t have a,? and Draco cut her off.
?What about Potty??
?Huh, what are you talking about? There?s nothing between Harry and I!?
?Tell that to him!? he moved aside, and Seth was behind him.
?Seth!?
?What?s going on with you and Harry? Tell me Theresa!? said Seth and she couldn?t say anything, ?Well, I?m waiting Theresa!? and Harry came up the steps behind her. ?Well look what we?ve got here! The lovebirds together!? and Harry became furious.
?What did you say? I?m just helping her since YOU seem to be doing a heck of a job at it, especially when you?re the one who loves her! So, why don?t you tell her Seth?
Tell her how you feel!? said Harry, anger rising in his voice. Theresa looked over to Harry, then to Seth.
?Seth, is that true?? she asked, slowly walking toward her friend, ?Do you love me, Seth??
?I don?t know, maybe but?? he didn?t say anymore.
?Maybe what?? Theresa asked
Draco noticed what was going on, and he couldn?t let this happen so he quickly asked Harry a question, ?Why so tense Potter? Afraid that Seth is going to take the one YOU love away from you? I think you?re just jealous of Seth, because he hangs out with Theresa!? and an evil smirk slipped his lips.
?I DON?T GIVE A DAMN WHAT YOU THINK MALFOY! YOU?RE VIAL AND CRUEL, AND DON?T FORGET PATHETIC!? Harry shouted, and his voice echoed throughout the entire hall.
Everyone?s attention was brought to Harry, even Theresa?s. They all stood there watching him, of course Draco was still smirking.
?Harry?? Theresa said gently, ?Is that true?? she asked him. She could see that he was calming down, because his breathing became normal again, and his fist unclenched.
He looked to the ground and spoke, ?Stay close to your friends, stay close to them? because you never know when you?ll need them, promise that you?ll stay close to Seth!? and he looked up again, ?Theresa, you?re in more danger than you know? promise that you and Seth will stay close!? said Harry as a tear slid down his cheek.
Theresa stood there questioning in her mind what he means by she?s in danger, ?Harry, what exactly are you saying?? and she waited for an answer, but one didn?t come. Harry walked off in the other direction, then the bell rang for their next class? Defense Against the Dark Arts with Umbridge. She turned around and Draco was gone, and Seth placed a hand on her shoulder.
?Theresa, c?mon we?re going to be late if we just stand here.? Seth said comfortingly, and he took her hand and walked her to the next class.
?Seth, do you love me?? and he looked at her strangely, ?Harry said that you do, and?? she cut herself off.
?Theresa, what are you talking about? Harry never said anything like that!? he said, looking at her in disbelief.
?But, he did? he said right in front of you, he said it TO you!? and she walked inside the classroom alone, ?Did Harry actually say those things? Or was that just another trick to get me to listen to him?? she muttered to herself as she took a seat in the back.
Chapter Nine: Professor Umbridge
Seth joined Theresa in the back, and he noticed that she seemed a little jumpy. He closely watched as she started to bounce up and down in her chair then said, ?Theresa what?s the matter, you seem a little?strange.?
She quickly turned to him and smiled as if nothing was wrong, ?I?m fine, I just really hope Umbridge is out sick today!? as she craned her neck more to see the front.
As soon as the class had filled, their worst nightmares had come true, Umbridge stood at the top of the small staircase to her office smiling out at them all with her wide toad-like smile. Seth and Theresa knew what was coming so that put their wands away and pulled out their quills and parchment. Seth whispered to Theresa, ?I can tell that this is going to fun!? as he made a little scoff.
Theresa replied from the corner of her mouth, ?You can say that again!? as Umbridge came down the stairs.
She cleared her throat with the usual, ?Hem hem!? and continued, ?Good morning class!? and there was silence, ?No no no, when I say Good morning class, I expect you all to say very clearly ?Good morning Professor Umbridge?. Now let?s try that again, Good morning class!?
The whole class rang out, ?Good morning Professor Umbridge!? and she stood in front of the class with a succeeded grin on her face.
?Very good!? she replied to the class, and the whole rest of the lesson was like this. Just as obnoxious and annoying.
After the bell rang everyone made a beeline for the door, pushing passed one another to get out the door. Finally after pushing and shoving their way through, Theresa and Seth emerged from the crowd of Gryffindors and Slytherins. They headed down to the Great Hall for lunch, and met Sean and Mokuba in the Entrance Hall.
Theresa decided that she could tell them all about everything that has been going on with her and Harry, but she didn?t want to ruin their first day of Hogwarts so she kept to herself. They took a seat at the Gryffindor table just as Harry, Ron, and Hermione sat across from them. Harry sat in front of Theresa.
Harry tried to start a friendly conversation, ?Isn?t that Umbridge woman horrible??
Theresa nodded as everyone else said, ?Yes!? and Harry laughed. He then noticed the grimace on Theresa?s face, he leaned across the table. Then placed a hand on her shoulder and spoke with comforting words, ?It?s okay.?
She looked up into his green eyes and felt secure at last, the first feeling of freedom she had since she arrived. Then she smiled. She didn?t care that everyone else was staring at her, the only thing that mattered to her now at this moment was? Harry. The feeling of emptiness had finally lifted from her as he continued to smile.
Then he came back to his seat, ?Are you okay?? he asked full of concern.
Instead of nodding, this time she said, ?Yeah, I am.?
The bell rang for Care of Magical Creatures and they all shot out of the Great Hall together, all of them laughing at a joke that Harry just told, even Theresa. As soon as they came out on the wet grass, they had all seen Hagrid from a mile away. Though Seth made sure that he walked between Theresa and Harry. When they reached Hagrid?s hut they had seen the one group of students to ruin anyone?s day, Malfoy and his cronies.
