Right on. But I have just bought His Dark Materials by Philip something or other (don't have the book on me, but Mary will correct me). I'll start reading the Golden Compass in a couple of days. Right now, my sister is making me read Jane Austin. Which I am rather fond of, but you can only read so much of it at a time, you know? I read Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice years ago, and I've just read Persuassion, Emma and now am in the middle of Mansfeild Park. If I survive it, I will definitely need a fantasy novel next!! Mary, I'm finally getting around to your advice and reading that series; or the first book at least.

lol, none taken. My sister would kill me. We just watched that movie 'the Jane Austin Book Club,' and she decided that we needed to read all of her novels. Why, I'm not sure, because we can't really have a discussion about them becuase when she said we should read them she really just meant I should read them and tell her if they're good before she undertakes them. But I'll get to the Dark Materials soon.

I am very interested in what you think of " His dark Materials "
That is once you have started reading the books..... No rush on reading the books to be implied.
I have finished the Dark Materials!
Spoiler:
Actually I am quite impressed by the series. Phillip Pulman has great depth in his imagination and I feel that the series is a tribute to atheism and humanity.
Hey Dr. J Christopher Paolini will be writing a fourth book to the Inheritence Trilogoy, therefore it will NOT be called that any longer. It will now be known as the Inheritence Cycle.
Who wrote " The Golden Compass?" My sister has read the first 3 books of the series, and it is very clear that this author is totally against God and in the books, there is a war against God and he is overthrown. I really hate that this man has so much hatred for Christians and God.........anyway~ I won't be reading those books or seeing the movies...but feel free to enjoy and I am curious what your opinions are on them.

The Dark Materials are more a celebration of Atheism and the human spirit rather than being against God. I wouldnt like to go through a lot of the details here -but I liked the books, and I am a religious person. The books speak of Authority's end (also the name of a chapter in The Subtle Knife) - not the end of God. One must keep an open mind while reading books - that is very important.
I see Jib has a new nickname hehe Anyways, I haven't read the Eargon books but I saw the movie and I know the movies aren't always accurate but hey...what can you do? haha
