Sign d petition friends. IF U R a true Harry Potter Fan
And FWD it to your friends
To: Laura Mallory

Since 1997 wen Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was first published in the UK, the HP series has been capturing the imaginations of the young and old alike, both in the UK and all over the world. Published in more than 63 languages and selling over 300 millions copies collectively of the six books.

Although the series is about students who attend a boarding school which teaches witchcraft and wizardry, the books are not "texts of the devil" as some would like to think them. They do not promote worship of the devil and make no mention of such. The books are purely fantasy novels no different from The Chronicles of Narnia, or The Wizard of Oz.

Therefore, this petition is a response to Laura Mallory, a mother from Loganville, Georgia (USA), who has crusaded to have the Harry Potter series removed from classrooms in Gwinnett County Georgia, simply on the basis that her religion considers Harry Potter to be a "demon child who worships the devil" and that the books are un-Christian and are teaching children witchcraft. She believes the books corrupt the minds of children and will lead them to a path of suicide, depression, and immorality, and has even claimed that the books have influenced school shootings and continues to reference the Columbine High School shootings. She has NEVER read a Harry Potter book ever.

Through this petition, it is my hope that we may end Laura Mallory's ignorant crusade to ban Harry Potter books, and that she may never publicly contest the series ever again, either by court matters or school boards or complaints to school principals. She does not have the right to control what thousands of other children read in Gwinnett County and should no longer have a platform with which to spread her ignorance.

Sincerely,

Plz vist N sin ur petition @

ok I hate to be a nuiscance, but um. although Harry does not "worship" the devil, the magic and murder and mayhem in the books are actually unchristian and although I think this woman is going the wrong way about it, I think she is correct in saying some of the things she is saying.

Actually apart from the Immorality part and the whole witchcraft, magic stuff she says, the rest is rubbish.

But I still think it is a bad thing.

So no I will not try to stop her.

Sorry.

By the way did she say what religion she was?
