Rupert Grint - Ronald Weasley

Rupert Grint is the eldest son of father Nigel, an ex race car memorial dealer, and mother Jo, a homemaker. He has one brother being James (15), and three sisters - Georgina (12), Samantha (10) and Charlotte (7), with also a ginger cat, a basset hound named Sergeant Montgomery, and two rats that played Scabbers in PoA. He was born on the 24th August 1988, in Hertfordshire, England, UK.

Harry Potter was Rupert's film debut in 2001. Before that, he had only ever acted in school plays, one time starring as Rumplestiltskin. Rupert first auditioned for Ron Weasley in the normal way. He then saw a news report on CBBC Newsround requesting all Ron wannabes to send in a video of themselves. Rupert enlisted the help of a friend, and his mother, Jo, to video him dressed up as his female drama teacher, and performed a Rap. This obviously grabbed the Casting office's eye, and Rupert was given the role Of Ron Weasley.

However, since Philospher's Stone, Rupert's film career has bloomed. He's starred so far in all four Harry Potter films, plus he played Alan in 'Thunderpants'. He has also starred in a French film 'Incroyable Histoire de Patrick Smash', and a film from the Netherlands titled 'Donderbroek'. He is now all set to begin filming 'Driving Lessons' which also stars another Harry Potter actress - Julie Walters (Molly Weasley). Rupert has now been confirmed to star in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
